Promoting Love Poetry and Love Poets
Thousands of pieces of wonderful love poetry have been lost by love poets, over the years. Many times, love poets have penned their unique love poems on pieces of paper, or whatever else they could find to write on.
Their poetry may have been set aside somewhere. Maybe it's been written in books, placed on library book shelves, but somehow, the love poetry has never been read by anyone. Perhaps what the poet wrote was discarded, or simply lost.
Here is a simple example.
Who knows how many beautiful love poems have been written on tree trunks, over the years? Tree trunks decay and whatever has been written on them, disappears in time.
This Haiku poem is dedicated to all of the love poets, who wrote on tree trunks and to the poetry that is gone forever, even though love lives on.
I Love You
Initials carved on a tree,
A simple love poem;
Poetry, forever lost.

Many times, people do not know the value of the love poetry that they find in amongst their treasures. Sometimes, the love poetry is saved, but often the paper that it is written on, is crumpled and tossed away.
Wouldn't it be wonderful, if we could find every piece of love poetry, that has ever been written and lost? One has to wonder, how different our world of today would be, if every one of those pieces of love poetry had been saved and published.
Thousands of love poets, would have received recognition for their poetry!
Our world would be a better place today!

From "LOVE 2000 AD" to "LOVE 2010 AD"
“LOVE 2000 AD”, is the name of a poetry project that I started at the turn of the century. Love poetry had become my personal passion.
I had just completed my Master of Philosophy degree, at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario (Canada), in 1997.
I registered AMAZON ART REPRODUCTIONS in 1998, in Thunder Bay, Ontario (Canada), as a single proprietorship, for the purpose of publishing my personal collection of love poetry. I had started to write love poetry in conjunction with artwork and photography.
Horizons are stepping stones for new horizons.
This “Love 2000 AD” poetry project or horizon, I am beginning to realize now, was just the first stepping stone towards the next one, namely the envisioned expansion of this project, to include other love poets and their love poetry, as “Love 2010 AD”. Yes, it is ten years later. I still have not written all of the love poetry, that can be written.
“Love has a complexity, multiplicity and diversity of expression.” The horizons of love are infinite. So are the horizons of love poetry. Writing love poetry continues to be my passion and probably always will be. So if you are a love poet, welcome to my world!
"Love, I'll put my hand in yours and if you don't let go, we'll be together forever." This short poem depicts the heart and soul of “Love 2000 AD”.
I wrote this poem, now entitled “Love”, at the International Society of Poets Conference, held in Washington, DC, in 1995.
As it was given to me, I penned it on the scroll for the “World's Largest Poem For Peace.”
Let me tell you more about this unique scroll. Poets from all over the world attended the international poetry conference. We were all invited to submit a new piece of poetry for this project, or to write a new poem on the scroll, that had been set up in one of the rooms. It was actually a huge roll of paper, unrolled at one end and re-rolled on the other end of several tables that had been set together lengthwise.
Not having any of my poetry with me at that moment and not wanting to let the opportunity slip by, I quickly penned this poem.
I entitled this poem “Love,” at a later date.

About Love Poets And Love Poetry
Love poets and love poetry have been in existence since the beginning of history. Far too often, love poets have been mocked, pushed aside or ignored, by those who do not recognize the merit or value of love poetry. Many wonderful pieces of love poetry have been discarded over the years, by those who failed to recognize its worth.
Love poetry has tremendous value.
At the same time, we live in world that appears to be functioning, on the basis of an ever increasing economic deficit. What appears to be lacking or missing in the economy, is love.
“God is Love.” 1 John 4:8 the Bible tells us.
Many people ignore or deny the existence of God.
One might suggest that what also appears to be lacking, are the many blessings that God has to offer His people, everywhere. Why should God bless those who deny Him and His reality?
Would He deny His blessings to those who love Him and treat Him with awe and respect? God loves His creation. He loves humankind.
Love suffers no lack.
As human beings, we know that we need God's love and His blessings. What we choose to magnify in our lives, will continue to grow. Why not magnify love?
Love poets do just that. Thus, one must suggest that what love poets and love poetry have to offer to humankind, is the priceless commodity, that is so important in human life, namely that of love.
